Martin Lesarte, coach of Al Ahli, justified the meeting of three players with Simba in the middle to maintain the efforts of the players in the face of high temperatures.
Ahli lost Tuesday against Tanzania's Simba with a 1-0 draw in the fourth round of the African Champions League.
"The temperature and the high humidity rate affected us especially in the second half and caused a lot of stress for the players," he told the press conference.
"I pushed three players to midfield to keep all the players at work because of the high temperature."
"The game has been a waste of time for Simba players who have dropped more than 15 times on the pitch and this is not in accordance with the rules of fair play."
"Ahli is used to looking ahead and our goal is clear: win the next two games and qualify for the next round in order to reach our goal of winning the title."
Al-Ahli has seven points, followed by Simba with six points, Vita Club with four points and Al-Saoura with only two points.
The Vita Club will meet the young people of Al-Saoura later on Tuesday.
