Magdy Abdel Ghani, a board member of the Football Federation, denied rumors about the possibility of canceling the Egyptian championship this season.
"Unfortunately, news and rumors are spreading on social networking sites like forest fires, and the public treats them as facts," Abdul Ghani said as part of a daily program.
He added: "No Faraj Amer, president of the Smouha club, knows the possibility of canceling the league and the Minister of Sports is worried.
"I know for a fact that the league will not end before the African Cup of Nations, whether the tournament was organized or not, we confirmed 100 times that the league was going on. Let's not talk again, let's be positive without creating confusion.
"We have to calm down in this extraordinary season to complete the trip and focus on the success of the Nations Cup in cooperation with the state organs.We unite and forget the minor differences between us because the world whole will follow us in June ".
"We had a great season and we wanted to have a league of two teams, but we made this proposal several seasons ago, the competition was weak and did not reach its goal."
