Ahmed Majahid, a board member of the football federation and spokesman for his name, said that the ground of the Cairo stadium had improved considerably in view of the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations next summer.
"There was a state of worry on the ground at the Cairo stadium, but work is underway and the pitch will be ready for the tournament," Mujahid told FilGoal.com.
"But there will be relief on the ground."
"Starting in the quarter-finals, it's normal to have four games in the main stadium, but that will not happen in the 2019 tournament," Mujahid said.
"In the tournament, there will be a quarterfinal match at the Cairo stadium, as well as in the four rounds following the final match."
"As for the pre-quarterfinals, they will continue because the matches of Egypt are held at the Cairo stadium."
Earlier, the head of the Cairo stadium authority, Ali Darwish, had decided that the completion of the maintenance and development of the stadium would be ready to host the 2019 Africa Nations Cup.
"The development of the stadium goes in all directions, from the first entrances to the stadium, through the stands, all the chairs, the cabin, the locker rooms and the field, in accordance with the specifications of FIFA and Al Kaf" said Darwish on the radio.
"95% to 98% of the maintenance will be completed on April 30th and the rest will end on May 15th," he said.
