Nader Shawki, midfielder Al Ahli's Mohamed Mahmoud, announced that he had been operated on after a cruciate ligament injury.

"Mahmoud successfully conducted the operation in Berlin by German physician Wailer, who stated that it was a successful operation and back after 8 months," said Shawki at FilGoal.com.

"Mahmoud will start the rehabilitation process from Thursday and leave the hospital on Friday, before deciding to continue in Germany or return to Egypt," he said.

"The treatment and rehabilitation period will develop for eight months to ensure the player's return to the same level, if not better."

Mohammed Mahmoud's injury occurred in the match between Al-Ahli and Samouha, which took place at the Borg Al-Arab stadium, where the red team won unanswered.

Mahmoud left Wadi Degla to settle in Al-Ahli in January, but only 57 minutes before the cruciate ligament was cut.
