Sayed Abdel Hafid, the club's football coach, is in contact with the African Football Confederation (CAF) to postpone the 24-hour match to South Africa.
The match is expected to take place on April 5 in South Africa with the quarterfinals of the African Champions League. Al Ahli plans to postpone it on Saturday, April 6th.
Al-Ahli justified his request because of the flight conditions and the lack of an appropriate flight for South Africa and the team's association with a match in the Egyptian championship on April 2 against Al Ittihad of Alexandria.
"It is very difficult to organize the match on April 5, as the team will arrive in South Africa on the 4th," Sayed Abdel Hafiz told the official website.
"It puts a lot of pressure on the players because of the difficult flight to South Africa and the lack of rest before the Sun Downs match," he said.
"I hope that the African Union will take into account the circumstances in which Al Ahli finds himself and postpone the match for a day," said Abdel Hafiz.
Al Ahli will face Zamalek on March 30 in the Egyptian Championship before the England Cup on April 2 in the same competition and then the Suns Down in African Champions League.
