The head of the competition committee of the Egyptian Football Federation, Amer Hussein, revealed a promise made by officials of the Borg el-Arab stadium on the ground before hosting the league summit between Al Ahly and Zamalek on March 30th.
The ground floor of the Burj Al Arab stadium was in bad shape lately, the stadium being hosted by the Egyptian league and teams participating in the African championships.
"Burj Al Arab officials have promised me a different path for the ground," Amer Hussein told FilGoal.com.
"The stadium officials assured me that the 10-day rest period leading up to the decisive match would help him get a better pitch," he said.
"The transfer of Smouha and Wadi Degla from Burj Al Arab Stadium to Al-Max Stadium has increased the number of days off, which increases the chances of improving the pitch."
The chairman of the competition committee said the determination of the Borg Al Arab stadium to host the summit was final and that there was no possibility to transfer the match to Cairo.
"I spoke to Tharwat Suwailm, executive director of the Football Federation, and the final date and venue of the match were finally set."
Zamalek will host Ahli on March 30th in the match postponed from the 17th day of the Egyptian championship.
