Former Senegalese player El Hadj Diouf whispered to Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the Liverpool strikers, asking them to leave the English club.
"If I'm Salah or Mani, I'll try to get myself to Real Madrid," Diouf said.
"I'm going to get things done in La Liga, what will they do more with Liverpool?"
"Now I have to look for a new challenge – they have to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona to play alongside the best players," said the 38-year-old former striker.
Liverpool tries to keep its two stars, Salah and Mani, because of the desire of many clubs to sign them.
Previous reports have indicated that Real Madrid was looking for one of the 27-year-old players.
Salah and Mani are among the best and second of the last two years of the African Footballer of the Year award by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
They were the top scorers of last season with Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang Gabon of Arsenal.
Salah and Mani led Liverpool to the 2018-2019 Champions League.
