HANI ABU RIDA, president of the Egyptian Football Federation (FFA), highlighted the eligibility of Mohamed Salah to win the title of African player of the year 2018 after competing with his Senegalese teammate, Sadio Mani.
Salah was crowned for the second time in a row at the ceremony organized by the African Union (AU) in Senegal.
"Mohamed Salah had an outstanding season and deserved this award after his bid," Hani Abu Reda told ONA Sport. "Some people were afraid to organize the ceremony in Senegal.
"We know the integrity of the African Union and that did not worry us, and after declaring it a winner, it should not be a concern."
On the handshake of Salah and talk about the tension of the relationship, explained the president of the Egyptian Football Federation, "Mohamed Salah's relationship with the Egyptian Union is satisfactory, she is the son of the children from the Union and sometimes things are inflated ".
"We are preparing for the next match against Niger in the final phase of the African Nations qualifiers and then for a friendly clash against Nigeria," said Abu Reda.
"We will wait for the draw on April 4th, then we will set a plan for friendly matches to prepare the team."
