According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Barcelona will pay Liverpool 20 million euros when the Brazilian participation reaches 100 matches in all competitions with the Catalan squad.
Coutinho has played 90 games so far in the Blaugrana shirt and will be out for several months due to the injury he suffered.
The report added that the element was easy to verify, especially with 10 games remaining to reach the figure, despite previous injuries and a loan to Bayern Munich last season.
The report concluded that it is possible for a player to end the season without completing all 100 games with Barcelona and then be sold after the end of the season.
Coutinho cost Barcelona 120 million euros moving from Liverpool in the winter of 2018, then another 40 million euros.
Barcelona have already paid € 10million to qualify for the Champions League twice, and a further € 5million after appearing in 25 appearances for the team.
Coutinho’s contract runs until summer 2023 and is expected to return to the competition next April.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has scored 23 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for the Catalan side.
