The Petrojet coach, Mo Men Sulaiman, said his team was well behaved against Al Ahly on Saturday in his last Egyptian Premier League match.
"We were affected by the absence of three major players, for example Beckley Shmills," said Sulaiman on the On Sport channel.
"We played a good match at the mental level and we were a club, we do not deserve to lose," he continued.
Ahmed Sheikh scored the goal after a Petrojet defense corner failed to stay out of the way.
This was the third meeting between Suleiman and Petrojet, who had succeeded Tariq Yahya.
Sulaiman tied with the army and defeated Smouha in the first two meetings led by Petrojet.
