The organizing committee of the African Nations Championship has decided to choose the air defense ground to be part of the stadiums in Egypt instead of the Stadium of peace.

"The stability of the air defense stage has been settled in the stadiums because it is the only stage ready at 100% at the present time and which does not require any repair or equipment," said a source on FilGoal .com.

"The air defense stadium is ready in every respect and the AU committee charged with monitoring the championship has shown great admiration for the stadium," said the source, who declined to be named.

"The announcement of this decision will be made at the meeting of the organizing committee of the championship with the African Union during which will be formally unveiled all the stadiums of the championship."

Egypt will host the African Nations Championship from June 21st to July 19th.

It should be announced that 6 stadiums will be organized to host the tournament, of which 8 are Cairo, Peace, Air Defense, Ismailia, Suez, Port Said, Alexandria and Max.

On the other hand, FilGoal.com continues with Mohamed Fadl, director of the African Nations Championship, to determine the selection criteria for tournament venues.

Fadel told FilGoal.com: "The championship organizing committee has visited all the stadiums and tournament hotels with officials responsible for the African Union tournament record and a schedule has been set for the tournament. Announces stadiums and hotels hosting the tournament. "

"We will have 8 stadiums, which will be discussed at the organizing committee meeting with CAF officials and the 6 top referees will be selected for the tournament," he said.

"The selection of the stadium does not only depend on its condition and facilities, it also takes into account the criteria of each stadium of neighboring hotels that host the teams and the roads leading to this stadium," he explained.

"The organizing committee will hold a meeting in a few days to review the assessment of the eight sites, select the six stadiums of African nations and then announce them in an official statement."
