Lyon coach Bruno Genizio praised Jose Mourinho, who told the French team that he could lead the team next season. .
"We can only respect Mourinho, he's a coach who has won wherever he went," Genizio told reporters.
"I can not define Mourinho as a person, but I respect him very much for his track record and achievements in football," said the French coach, whose contract with Lyon ends in June.
"Wherever he went, he won a trophy, he won the Champions League, it is clear that he is an excellent coach, so if he succeeds, it will be an honor."
Mourinho has been free since his dismissal from Manchester United in December.
In previous statements, the Portuguese have not closed the door to the possibility of working in France. Mourinho has played for Benfica, Uniao Leiria, Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
He won the league title in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain and won the Champions League with Porto and Inter in 2004 and 2010, respectively.
