England newspaper The Telegraph said Chelsea will sack coach Frank Lampard on Monday, due to the team’s poor performance in recent times.

She said the club have asked their players to postpone their attendance at the training headquarters until this afternoon.

Chelsea have won one game and lost 5 times in their last eight Premier League appearances, falling to ninth place in the table.

It was earlier reported that the former Blues star was in danger of leaving, after the team disappointed fans this season despite heavy assignments last summer.

At the start of this season, Chelsea included Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kay Havertz, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, Edwin Anderson, Malang Sar and Edward Mendy.

But despite the strong support from the squad roster, he remained far from competing strongly for the top spots in the local championship.

Candidates to succeed Lampard, including Leicester City coach Branden Rodgers, Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhotel, former Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel, former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri and current Red Bull Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann wrote various reports.

Fabrizio Romano, a reporter for the Italian Sky Sports Channel, tweeted that German Tochel, who left Paris a few days ago, is the closest to succeeding Lampard.

Lampard is spending his second season at Chelsea since taking over from Maurizio Sarri.

Overall, Lampard led the Chelsea squad in 84 games, winning 44 and losing 25.
