Liverpool defender Virgil van Dyke was crowned December player in the English Premier League, beating teammate Mohammed Salah.
Van Dyck was the first to face Salah, Eddin Hazard (Chelsea), Harry Keane (Tottenham), Hyung Min-Sun (Tottenham), Felipe Anderson (West Ham United) and Marcus Rushford (Manchester United).
Van Dyke was involved in seven games with Liverpool in the Premier League last December and scored one goal against Wolverhampton and one against Everton.

The club's top scorers were Mauricio Pocetino (Tottenham), Mauricio Sari (Chelsea), Nuno Santo (Wolverhampton) and Manuel Pellegrini (West Ham).
He led Liverpool to seven games played in December and contributed to the standings.
Andrews Townsend, of Crystal Palace, scored the goal of the month and scored in Manchester City.
