Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said he had repeatedly denied Real Madrid's training for the 22-year-old Englishman.
"Real Madrid has refused more than once and now I have to say that it is over for me," said the Frenchman at BBC Sport.
"If you interview any coach in the world, everyone will say that it's the biggest team in the world."
"We were rebuilding the stadium (at Arsenal), we had to pay back, I had promised to stay and I was happy with my decision."
Wenger left Arsenal last summer and has yet to face another team.
According to some information, the 69-year-old will resume training very soon.
