ESET Security detected an application that stole encrypted user data from the Bitcoin wallet and overwritten it with virtual data storing data in another anonymous person's virtual account, while many fraudulent apps were found in the store.
According to the Indian company Phonearena, a Google Store application, whose apparent purpose is to encrypt user data by means of a long string of characters, is a mower-type application, a type of malware capable to steal automatic encryption in the wallet of the online user. .
The MetaMask application was an application that detected malicious shuffling software. She used the idea of encrypting user data, while this data ended up with alternative proxy addresses on behalf of the user. This process occurs when the user logs in automatically. ESET pointed out that such applications had been spotted for the first time on the Windows platform in 2017, and had discovered this category of malicious apps in Google Play over the past month.
ESET also confirmed the presence of such apps in the Google Play store, which aims to track users and frauds by stealing user data, and emphasized the ability to protect users by the following steps:
