The investigation of two journalists has provoked public opinion.
The Criminal Committee made a number of decisions, including a fine on one of the sports channels, the suspension of sports advertisers and the investigation of two journalists.
The committee fined one of the sports channels after it was seized by the media, with one of the channel's program guests reporting excesses and unjustified accusations.
The committee also decided to prevent sports advertisers from going beyond the proposal of professionals, as well as to investigate two journalists as a result of tweets published on the social networking site Twitter, which sparked the public opinion.
The decisions were based on what had been presented by the legal committee of the Saudi Sports Media Association.
The lack of designation by the Federation is attributable to the legal rules of procedure adopted by the Board of Directors, which do not allow defamation. The Board of Directors shall debate at its next meeting the amendment to the by-law concerning the declaration of penalties.
The Sports Media Association has defined 8 professions to give a card to its owner and allow him to practice sports media, while channels will be directly responsible to anyone outside these professions and that the Union has the right to ask audiovisual media to take strict measures against transgressors.
Two days ago, the Federation launched a set of training programs for the development of sports media, whose registration began last Wednesday and ten programs will be launched in seven different regions.
