3 brand transactions (BLEMIL PLUS)
The Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has withdrawn three baby food products from BLEMIL PLUS due to possible contamination with Salmonella Poona bacteria, the agency's official website said.
In a statement, the FDA's Department of Early Warning and Communications Management received a notification from the European Rapid Alert Food and Feed Alert System (RASFF), which included a list of three child food operations and in response to the Kingdom due to possible contamination with Salmonella Poona Danger to children's health.
She added that the producers are manufacturers in Spain, the first bearing the name (BLEMIL PLUS 1 HR)
, Formula intended for private medical use in infants from water-processed rice protein with operation number 138/2918, weighing 400 grams and dated 10/1018.
The second product, called BLEMIL PLUS 2 HR, combines a special medical use for the monitoring of infants and children from water-processed rice protein, and bears numbers 197/2958 and 198/2958, weighing 400 grams and dating from 10/2018 and 11/2018 m.
The Authority indicated that it had taken precautionary measures since the receipt of the notification, including the inventory of quantities entered in Saudi Arabia from operations likely to be affected by the registrations Al-Fesh at the border crossing points and warehouses of the company's distributors, producer activities and coordination with distributors of the company's producers. These operations come from local markets as soon as possible and with close monitoring by the Commission.
"Food and Drugs" recommended to consumers to avoid consuming these products on behalf of producers and to immediately get rid of them for the health of their children, stating that they would continue to follow the necessary procedures to ensure that markets are free of producers.
"Foods and Drugs" suggests that the symptoms of salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and colic (and sometimes vomiting), often 12 to 72 hours after infection and can last from four to seven days, which can cause drought in infants and children under two years of age. And the wounded often recover.
