Not only are smartphones compatible with wireless charging, but some have the option of using it as a storage source to charge another wireless phone. This feature is not new, as ASUS has been offering for years, but recently, major smartphones have begun to adopt it and Apple could apply it to iPhone phones that will be unveiled this year.
Like the Mate 20 Pro and Galaxy S10, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo discloses the same feature on his iPhone. The analyst suggests that Apple will increase the battery capacity of the iPhone this year to be more useful for charging other devices.
There is no risk now that the iPhone ships big handsets and other smart phones, but at least, it can charge the new speakers from the iPod, from as much more than Apple has canceled its multi-device wireless charger.
And do not forget the Apple Watch, also rechargeable wireless and does not need the headphones or the power to fill you up, so you can count on the iPhone to ship your phone without lose a lot of the power of the battery itself.
Apple will rely on the Qi wireless charging protocol, which means the iPhone may be able to charge other devices, not just its devices. Thus, the new battery of the iPhone will be about 10 to 15% larger than the current battery.
Of course, there is still time to test the benefit in all respects and determine how effective it is to decide whether Apple will officially adopt it for the 2019 iPhone or not.
