Patent "PORTABLE DEVICE"
Microsoft has obtained a patent called "WEARABLE DEVICE", which was introduced by the company in June 2017.
The patent describes a portable device, equipped with a range of motors and sensors, that can be used to control or stabilize limb movements or involuntary movements of diseases such as Parkinson's disease.
In addition, the USPTO patent discloses that the portable device will contain a battery that will help it operate for a full day with a single charge, the vibrations serving to stimulate the user's touch.
She pointed out that, if implemented correctly, this would seem to be an essential tool to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson's disease and many other diseases.
The smartphone will support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, as well as associated smartphone applications, so the device will have clear tracking and reporting capabilities, as well as potential public health features.
What is Parkinson's disease?
Parkinson's disease is a disorder that occurs gradually in the nervous system and affects movement. Grows gradually and sometimes triggers a perceptible tremor in one hand. However, although Parkinson's disease is the most common marker, this disease usually causes stiffness or slow movement.
At the onset of Parkinson's, some expressions may appear on your face, no expression may appear, or your arms may not swing when you walk. Your words may become weak or unclear. The symptoms of Parkinson's disease worsen with time.
Parkinson's disease can not be cured, but even so, medications can help improve symptoms. From time to time, your doctor may suggest surgery to stimulate specific areas of the brain, leading to better symptoms.
Symptoms
The symptoms and symptoms of Parkinson's disease vary from person to person. The first signs may be slight and go unnoticed. Often the symptoms begin to manifest themselves on one side of the body and are usually worse on that side, even after you have started to touch both sides.
The signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease may include:
Tremor. Usually, a tremor or vibration begins, at one end, often with the tip of your hand or your fingers. You may notice that you rub your thumb and index finger with frequent movement, called trembling rolling discs. Parkinson's disease is a tremor in the case of relaxation (in the case of rest).
Slow motion (slow motion). Over time, Parkinson's can reduce your ability to move and slow down, making simple tasks difficult and tedious. Your steps may become shorter when you walk, or you may have trouble sitting down. In addition, you may need to lift your feet to try to walk, making movement difficult.
Solid muscles. Muscle stiffness can occur in any part of your body. Steep muscles can limit the extent of your movements and make you suffer.
They are the situation and the balance. Your posture may become curved or you may experience balance problems due to Parkinson's disease.
Loss of automatic movements. In Parkinson's disease, you may not be able to make unconscious movements, such as blinking, smiling, or swinging your arms when you walk.
Discourse changes. You may have trouble talking because of Parkinson's disease. You can speak in a low voice, or quickly, without clarity or hesitating before speaking. Your speech may become more monotonous rather than the usual changes in tone.
Changes in the writing. It can become difficult to write and your line may become small.
