Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo won the 2018 World Cup player's trophy at the ninth edition of the World Cup.
Ronaldo beat Frenchman Kilian Mbabi of Paris St Germain, Antoine Grizmann of Atletico Madrid and the French roosters at the heart of the World Cup.
The Portuguese star had an excellent season with Real Madrid, which led to a third UEFA Champions League crown before joining Juventus last summer.
Ronaldo has already won the award four times in 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
No player except Ronaldo has ever won the World Player of the Year award by Globe Soccer more than once.
Ronaldo also won the world football title as the best goal in 2018 and scored against his current club, Juventus, while he was playing for Real Madrid.
