The sabotage attack of the Houthi terrorist group Ansar Allah by a drone on two Saudi installations of Aramco is considered the most serious since the beginning of such attacks with the aid of drones or ballistic missiles launched from Yemeni territory to Saudi Arabia.

First: Saudi energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman acknowledges that the attacks on Aramco's Abqaiq and Khurais facilities disrupted the company's crude oil supply by about 5.7 million barrels per day, or about 50% of its production, although some of this would offset the withdrawal of Aramco's oil inventory. .

Secondly, Aramco had 260.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent in the global oil reserves market in 2017, higher than ExxonMobil, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell, BP and Total combined, and that Aramco produced 10.3 million barrels of oil per day. Last year, taking advantage of the world's lowest cost of crude oil production, $ 2.8 per barrel, the company also produced 1.1 million barrels of natural gas liquids and 8, 9 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Aramco also oversees the world's largest oil refinery with a production capacity of more than 7 million barrels a day.

The White House condemned the attack on Saudi energy infrastructure and a spokeswoman for the US Department of Energy announced that the Trump administration was ready to use the emergency oil reserve if necessary to offset any disruption in the oil markets. The ministry will work with the IEA in Paris to explore options for coordinating global collective action where necessary.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said it was closely monitoring the situation in Saudi Arabia, adding that the world's oil markets were currently endowed with abundant trading stocks to counter this painful blow suffered by the world oil market.
