LONDON (Reuters) – An underwater body has been found in the debris of Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala, the British Air Accident Investigation Bureau said Monday.
The plane, which also transported pilot David Ibotson two weeks ago over the English Channel, about 20 km north of Gurnsey Island
"Tragically and in a video sequence, we saw a passenger among the debris," said the Air Accident Investigation Directorate in a statement.
On Sunday, a rescue boat found the wreckage of the plane carrying Sala between the French cities of Nantes and Cardiff.
Sala and Captain David Ebosten were informed of the wreckage.
The Argentine gamer's search was stopped three days after his disappearance, but the Sala family announced on Jan. 26 that she would continue to search for the plane thanks to the funds collected online.
Argentina has moved to Cardiff City for 15 million pounds, making it the biggest deal in the history of the club.
