Saudi Foreign Minister Khamis al-Jahnawi said at a recent preparatory meeting at the level of Arab foreign ministers that held on Friday that "during his presidency of the Arab summit, the Tunisia will want to be a formidable and constructive proposal, with all the proposals and projects that would serve the interests of the Arab peoples and strengthen their position at the regional and international levels and speed up the ways of settlement of various current issues.

Al-Khmeri told a press conference at Culture City that during the closed meeting, a number of political and economic resolutions had been presented by the Permanent Delegates and High-level Officials of the League of Arab States. as well as by the Arab Ministers of Commerce and the Economy at the Ministerial Meeting of the Economic and Social Council. These projects and recommendations will all be discussed at the summit.

According to the Tunisia Africa News Agency, there have been lengthy discussions about the Golan Heights in Syria and the recent US decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty, underlining that a "strong statement" will be published on this subject at the summit.

He added that the situation in the region, especially the Palestinian issue and all related aspects (settlements, separation wall, prisoners, refugees, UNRWA and development), as well as the Yemen, Syria and of Libya, were discussed.

In this context, he stressed that the financial safety net will be activated in order to strengthen the Palestinian Foundation for Economic Empowerment of $ 100 million a month in order to meet the financial burden on the Authority Palestinian under the pressure exerted on her. The Arab countries have also insisted on their adherence to the peace option As a strategic approach in the framework of the Arab peace initiative and to reject any agreement that does not know the references, covenants and international resolutions in this respect (in reference to the said agreement of the century).

Regarding the Syrian file, Al-Khmeri said that the commitment of the Arab states to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and to support the efforts made by the envoy of the UN to speed up the political solution in Syria had been highlighted without referring to Syria's return to the League of Arab States. In this regard, it was pointed out that the humanitarian situation in Yemen was deteriorating, that it was necessary to restore legitimacy and support the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen for success. political negotiations between the parties.

With regard to the Libyan question, he highlighted the presence of several initiatives aimed at accelerating the establishment of a Libyan-Libyan political solution among the various parties in order to support the efforts of the envoy of Libya. the UN in Libya, Ghassan Salameh, who discussed the problems and difficulties faced by the Libyan issue. Adding that the Arab summit in Tunis will send a message to Libyans, they call for the need to speed up the conclusion of a political solution, given that the Libyan crisis poses a threat to neighboring countries and security. national Arab.

On the economic and social aspects of the meetings, Al-Khmeri confirmed that many of the draft resolutions that will be submitted to the summit have been adopted, including the Palestinian Foundation for Economic Empowerment, which will be financed by Arab funds. to strengthen the economic fabric in Palestine, Tunisia on the promotion of the elderly, the Arab strategy for human rights and the plan for improving the situation of refugees in the host countries .
