Garment chamber: Egypt's victory in the organization of 2019 African nations revives 40% of factories in the sector

Mohamed Abdel Salam, head of the garment industry at the Federation of Industries, said that Egypt's victory in the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations will revive 30 to 40% of garment factories made in Egypt will release the industry from the recession.

Abdul Salam said in a statement on the seventh day that this percentage of the industry was working in the making of the national team, which will be very popular on the occasion of the tournament and will depend on the volume of investments in the manufacture of these clothes and the readiness of each factory separately.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced Tuesday that Egypt has won the 2019 African Nations Cup (CAN) by 15 votes to one for South Africa after the withdrawal of the Organization of Cameroon.

"Egypt's victory in organizing the championship is a very good opportunity to get the apparel and textile sector out of the extreme recession and paves the way for companies that want to invest in manufacturing of the national team, which will not be limited to sportswear companies, but to all companies in the sector.

The head of the garment room said the sector represents about 20 percent of the industrial sector's investment in Egypt, and the amount of funds that companies will pump over the next period will depend on how the market evolves.
