Some doctors at a German university have managed to screen for breast cancer in a new way, paving the way for a 95% cure probability.
A medical research team from the University Hospital Heidelberg, in southern Germany, informed a journal of developing a blood test to accurately detect breast cancer.
The team noted that this test allowed doctors to detect cancer in the blood before it develops and reaches the stage where it can be detected using scanning technology or currently used imaging.
Early diagnosis of this type of cancer is a prerequisite for increasing the chances of successful treatment, eliminating up to 95%.
The way in which breast cancer is detected – through a blood test – is that it does not expose the patient to pain or irradiation and that the cost is lower.
