West Nile fever has already reached the Czech Republic. This is the first death of this terrible disease.

A 73-year-old woman had a fever and died at the hospital in August, according to Novinky.cz.

Vectors of West Nile virus have been found to be mosquitoes. The epidemiologist spoke details with Sputnik.

Epidemiologist at the epidemiological station of the South Moravian Epidemiology Station (Oldichich Šebesta) said that carriers of West Nile fever are mosquitoes (or real mosquitoes) and mosquitoes common . The first is in the lacustrine areas of southern Bohemia, the second is a common type throughout the country.

"In the case of West Nile fever, the main problem is not the spread of mosquitoes, but that of the causative agent, specifically the virus," said the epidemiologist.

"Have you heard of Valtická horečka fever, which could constitute a quorum in the Czech Republic?" It is also transmitted by mosquitoes, but this disease is not very difficult.

The most serious infection (such as chikungunya or dengue) is the so-called Asian tiger mosquito. He arrived in Albania in the late 1970s. In the early 1990s, they were recorded in Italy and in 2017 in the Czech Republic. It is thought that the world has been infected with mosquitoes from southern European countries.

It should be mentioned that the mosquitoes responsible for malaria are anopheles. It spreads widely on almost every continent. But the good news is that the last malaria epidemic was reported after the Second World War. The epidemiologist pointed out that there was no risk of spread of the disease in the Czech Republic, the causal factors do not exist in Europe.

Only one of the mosquitoes listed above that can be distinguished not only by an expert is a tiger mosquito. It has a dark color with bright white spots. Also, its advantage is the white belt on the chest. Unfortunately, other mosquitoes have no particularity. In addition, the world has explained that it is impossible to identify the type of mosquito from the place of bite.
