Gmail's new "AMP for email" will make messages more dynamic

On Tuesday, Google announced "AMP for Email," a new way for developers to make e-mail messages more interactive and to help recipients perform their tasks faster than their inbox.

AMP, or accelerated mobile pages, is something that has existed on Google for some time. For example, opening an article directly from the Google search page can take you to the AMP version of this article uploaded directly to the same tab instead of opening a new article. The history and closing of the AMP page to return to where you were before.

AMP for Email will allow senders to put interactive and useful content in messages instead of forcing users to access another web page.

Examples used by Google include Pinterest emails that allow users to save items from a live email.

You can also view hotel rooms from an email or keep tabs on a series of updated comments right in your inbox.

AMP emails seem to be supported not only by Gmail but also by Outlook and Yahoo! And Mail.Ru.

In addition to Pinterest, Google has also included Booking.com, Nexxt and redBus among the other services that already use the new AMP features in a publication published on the G Suite blog.

The initial version only covers e-mails displayed in your web browser. Gmail mobile support will be available soon.
