Apple has announced a new repair program for the iPhone 11 (iPhone 11), and according to the company, some phone users may be facing the issue of screen stopping on touch.
And as Apple reported, a small percentage of iPhone 11 models manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 were affected by this issue.
The company claims that the issue is related to a failure of the display unit which needs to be replaced for the phone to work properly again.
And Apple provided the trade-in program exclusively for the regular model of iPhone 11, and it does not apply to “iPhone 11 Pro” (iPhone 11 Pro) or “iPhone 11 Pro Max” (iPhone 11 Pro Max) .
The company said a small percentage of the iPhone 11’s screens may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display unit.
Users can check Apple’s support website to see if their phone is eligible for the trade-in program using its serial number.
If your iPhone is eligible for the program, you must contact Apple to transfer it to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
Apple replaces affected devices free of charge, and the repair program covers affected models for a period of two years after the device is initially put into service.
If the problem occurs at some point during the two year period, you are still entitled to a free replacement.
If the device suffers from any damage that hinders the ability to complete the repair, such as a broken screen, this issue should be addressed first.
Apple may refuse to provide free technical support for such damaged devices, and additional costs may be associated with additional repair in some cases.
According to the company, your iPhone is examined before providing a service to verify its eligibility for this program, and Apple recommends that you keep a backup copy of the iPhone through iCloud or a computer.
It should be noted that the company had previously launched several repair programs for different products. In October of this year, it provided a free repair program if the user has problems with the “AirPods Pro” wireless earbuds regarding the noise canceling function.
In January of this year, it also announced a free repair program to replace some iPhone cases with a built-in “Smart Battery Case” due to charging issues.
