Google confirms and Apple denies the existence of iPhone operating system deficiencies

Last week, Google released a blog revealing a major vulnerability of the iOS operating system, which leads to theft of data on the iPhone, but Apple has waited until today to to refute Google's claims.

According to a blog published by Google, a handful of hacked websites have taken advantage of a flaw in the iOS system to inject suspicious code into the iPhone.

But Apple seems to have a different view on the issue because the company confirmed that the shortcomings highlighted by Google had been corrected in February, pointing out that the attack was aimed at a dozen or so websites targeting the Uyghur community .

Apple estimates that the attacks lasted only about two months, not two, according to Google security researchers. According to the company, the problem was solved within ten days of knowing.

In turn, Google has not kept quiet about Apple's response and has stated the following:

Project Zero publishes technical research designed to improve the understanding of security vulnerabilities, leading to better defense strategies.

"We stick to our extensive written research to focus on the technical aspects of these vulnerabilities.We will continue to work with Apple and other large companies to ensure the safety of people online."

However, Apple says that security is one of its top priorities and that "regardless of the scale of the attack, we take the safety of all users seriously."

Google researchers pointed to other security vulnerabilities in iOS earlier this summer, and Apple finally had to fix a vulnerability that would allow users to unlock their jailbreak.
