Last month, Google began to implement measures that would have prevented the implementation of ad blocking plugins in Chrome, but it came back – under pressure from developers – and is partially removed from these measures as it would not interfere with the filtering of the content filtering.
Previously, Google had stated that it would remove WebRequest Web application in order to increase users privacy, improve security and speed of display, but that would block extensions blocking ads.
Now, engineer Devlin Cronin explained that this entire software interface will not be removed. He has published a technical study that confirms that additions blocking advertising do not slow down the loading of pages, eliminating the argumentation that Google is based on to strengthen its position by removing the work from the software interface above.
Ghostery's study showed that all ad blocking plugins are very effective today because they require a very short time, in milliseconds, to be effective in blocking ads.
Some other studies have shown that ad blocking extensions lead to faster page loading, which was the main driver of many users.
