Google removed about 85 malicious apps from the Play Store, after security researchers discovered that the apps contained a multitude of malware.
Trend Micro security researchers have discovered the malware, which can display full-screen ads, easily hide and monitor the screen lock feature.
The apps have been downloaded 9 million times on the Google Store and Easy Universal TV Remote was the most downloaded application from the list of 85 harmful adware apps, downloaded 5 million times.
