The company “Google” has announced that it is about to launch a new feature of “drawing”, which allows its users to draw roads themselves, without roads on them.
The new functionality is very similar to the method of using the “lines” tool in the Microsoft Paint program for Windows operating systems, as it allows the user to correct the roads on the map, as well as ‘add the missing roads, according to “Sky News”.
Regarding this feature, IT expert Dr Osama Mustafa says that the Google feature that will be launching in the coming months is not completely new, but rather exists, but only updates. Updates will be introduced there, adding: allow the user to draw roads and locate points for himself only, but after the launch of the new feature User drawing of roads will be shared with the public.
After submitting corrections and additions from the user side, Google will review them for accuracy and verify their compliance with reality.
Regarding the mechanism Google will adopt to verify these maps, Osama says, “Routes will be approved after confirmations from more than one user.” For his part, communication and media technology expert Ayman Salah explains this audit mechanism by saying: “The user will have to draw the map himself and identify the points of interest for a greater number of places. ‘users, and Google will have to verify the validity of that data by other users doing the same job,’ the information and the exact data are fully approved.
