A new Google study revealed that many of its users were using pirated passwords, which meant that their data might leak.

Google pointed out that users had to stop using the same password for multiple sites they were careful not to disclose their data, according to the site "gizmodo".

Google has collected data from the study of 670,000 users who installed the Google Chrome browser to verify the password "Password Verification" and logged on 21 million times on the websites . More than 316,000 of them have been identified as unsecured.

It turns out that a quarter of users do not change their password even if they learn that the password they used has been compromised. For its part, Google unveiled last February the addition of "Password Checkup" to verify the passwords of the browser Chrome.

It adds a warning when connecting to a site containing more than 4 billion usernames and passwords that Google knows to be dangerous due to previous hacks and invites you to change your password if necessary.

The study found that 25.7% of add-on users, or 81,368 people, chose to ignore the hacker warnings provided to them and continued to connect to sites using hacked data. even after being notified by Google, while 82,761 people, or 26% of users, have created new passwords. After receiving an alert, they tried to choose stronger passwords.

The study found that 60% of new passwords are protected against hacking and 96% were more powerful than the original password.
