Great pictures of Mars … an ice-covered volcano crater

The space exploration mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) has sent new images of Mars, showing another aspect of the red planet through its picturesque terrain.

The images show an 82-kilometer long corolla volcano, covered with an ice cover, near the north pole of Mars.

It is estimated that the volcano contains about 2,200 cubic kilometers of frozen ice water up to a depth of 2 km.

The volcano called Koroliev, the chief engineer of Soviet space rockets, also known as the "father of Soviet space technology".

The images arrive a few weeks after the US space probe "Insight" landed on the surface of Mars, which allowed it to send images to Earth.
