Today, Sunday, a Gulf country inaugurated a giant oil tanker, with a turnover of around 300,000 tonnes, as part of its drive to be one of the top ten countries in the world in the sector logistics.

The Oman Shipping Company today announced the inauguration of the giant tanker “Dhalkot”, which was built in a shipyard in South Korea owned by the company “DSME”.

According to the newspaper “Atheer”, the ship “Dhalkoot” is the last of three other huge tankers recently opened last year 2020, which bore the names of “Tire” and “Bahla”.

The company noted that the launch of the huge tankers serves to consolidate its position in the global crude oil transportation market and result in continued expansion in its operational activities.

The giant tanker “Dhalkot” (attributed to the Wilayat of Dhalkut, one of the states of the governorate of Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman) is the 60th vessel in the company’s fleet, with a tonnage of 300,000 tonnes and meeting all future environmental standards.

Oman Shipping Company, as one of the companies of the Asyad group, plays a vital role in the Sultanate’s efforts to become one of the top ten countries in the world in the logistics industry.

The Omani company supports integration activities through the various stages of the supply chain in the Sultanate and provides an integrated range of services, from tanker ownership operations to technical management, maintenance, commercial operation of ships and other activities.
