Halloween fans experience an additional atmosphere of fun and fear because of the moon, which will appear in this year’s festivities, complete to light up the skies on Saturday night, and inspire in souls the fear associated with the myths of the moon. emergence of werewolves.
But traditional Halloween celebrations will be completely different this year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
However, there will be a silver lining, as mutated werewolves will be able to appear and come out to howl, as according to prevailing myths some believe there are humans who turn into wolves on the night of a full moon.
This will be the first time since 1974 that a full moon will appear during Halloween celebrations in Ireland and Britain, according to Irish astronomy.
As this is the second full moon to appear in the month of October, it is known as the “blue moon” although it will not appear blue in the sky.
David Moore of the Irish Authority said: “The moon will appear in its perfect form at 2:49 pm on Halloween, and at sunset the moon will rise in the sky, appearing fully and brightly.”
He added: “It is possible that the completion of the Halloween moon will occur several times a century and not happen again in Ireland and Britain until 2039.”
The Authority expects there to be a lot of excitement surrounding this important celestial event.
David explained that some associate Halloween with the appearance of ghosts and ghouls, “but this year there will also be werewolves because of a full moon.”
He noted that the celebrations would be a lot of fun for the general public, “We hope that will excite everyone.”
This will be the first time a full moon has appeared on Halloween in the world since 1944.
“Anything that makes people aware of what’s going on in the sky is very helpful,” said Terry Mosley of the Irish Astronomical Society.
He added, “I guess there is a certain relationship between the full moon and the witches and spirits that move around on Halloween night and get people interested.”
“It’s just one of those things that happens very often.”
Storm Eden
The question now, with Storm Eden preparing to move on Saturday, will we be able to see the moon?
The good news is that although the storm is accompanied by strong winds, rain and occasional clouds, clear weather is also expected in the evening and overnight.
So if you can, why not take a break from eating Halloween candy, food, and watching spooky movies to catch a glimpse of the full moon this Halloween?
This event will not be repeated for the next 19 years.
