LONDON (Reuters) – The Briton Lewis Hamilton continued his run of the weekend of the Australian Grand Prix to finish third in free practice. Sebastian Vettel approached him after his injury in the second period on Friday.
At the start of the session, Red Bull did not hesitate to get into the ring and use it for free to finish fast rolls on moderately average tires.
But Mercedes and Ferrari drivers went straight into the soft tires for the first series of tests. The performance was very close to them at first, although the Mercedes duo remained in the ring for extra bearings and managed to get away a little.

Hamilton managed to regain the advantage after improving his time by 1: 22.292 minutes.
Ferrari took the lead compared to the second yesterday. Sebastian Vettel was second at 0.267 seconds. Hamilton was fastest in the first and third segments, while Vettel was the fastest in the middle.
Charles Leclair finished third despite his absence almost half a second from the head.
Fourth place went to Román Grosjean, who managed to put his car in the center, 0.820 seconds off the lead, and was able to progress with Kevin Magnussen, who finished fifth.
For its part, Red Bull had a fast pace on Soft, Pierre Gassley finishing sixth with a second lead, the RB 15 has not experienced a stable sequence.
Frenchman Max Firshtapen, who finished ninth, was 1,199 seconds slower than Hamilton.
Valteri Potas made a mistake coming out of the penultimate corner and crossing the grass edge of his fast move up to seventh place.
Daniel Kufayat continued his drive back to Toro Rosso early in the season, winning eighth, while Renault's Daniel Ricardo was in the top ten.
