Recently, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities revealed the date of the “Royal Mummies Parade” at its new location, in what Egypt’s Tourism Minister Khaled Al-Anani described as a “unique world event”.
The ministry said in an official statement that the golden procession, which includes 22 royal mummies, will travel the ancient streets of Cairo from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat on April 3.
The golden procession will include 22 royal mummies, dating from the 17, 18, 19 and 20 families, including 18 mummies for kings and 4 mummies for queens, including the mummy of King Ramses II, King Seknen Ra, King Tuthmosis III, King Seti I, Queen Hatshepsut and Queen Mert Amon, wife of King Amenhotep I and Queen Ahmose-Nefertari.
