High fat foods cause deadly disease

A recent scientific study found that the harmful effects of consuming fatty and sugary foods were not limited to weight gain and obesity, but could lead to serious life-threatening illnesses.

According to the Daily Mail website, researchers have discovered, through the study of rats, that fatty and sugary foods can cause blood poisoning, regardless of their health status or their weight.

In the UK, at least 46,000 people die each year from anemia, an immune response to infection leading to vital organ failure.

To confirm the results of the study, researchers at Brooke Napier, an assistant professor of biology at Portland State University, fed mice with a different diet.

The first diet was the Western Diet (WD), described as being low in fiber and high in fat and sugar, the other diet being a healthy, high fiber diet (SC).

The study showed that mice that ate the Western WD diet exhibited an increase in chronic inflammation, sepsis and high mortality compared to mice receiving a normal diet.

Professor Nabier said that these results indicate that mice suffer from more serious blood poisoning and die faster because of an element of their diet, and not because of weight gain. .

These results could help hospitals monitor the meals of ICU patients because they are more likely to develop sepsis, the researchers said.
