In his speech at the first Arab-European summit, which opened on Sunday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the king said it was necessary to "develop a global vision of the future project we wish for our salvation" .
In a speech read by Prime Minister Saad Eddin Othmani, His Majesty said that this vision should be based on "a rational order of priorities, a framework articulated for realistic goals, a participatory and proactive approach that adopts mechanisms to" action flexible and sophisticated ".
His Majesty emphasized that this integrated vision needed to focus on certain priorities concerning Arab national security, which should remain an Arab question, free of any interference or external influence, and ensure the revival of the Arab world at the economic, scientific and technological levels. and guide future partnerships for the creation of an environment. Intellectual, cultural and information resources for coexistence and cooperation between the peoples of the two regions.
King Abdullah stressed that "the Arab world is facing serious security and stability problems, sometimes because of the politics and behavior of some countries towards others". He added that "the elimination of this threat always depends on the principles of good neighborliness and respect for national sovereignty Territorial integrity, stop and avoid interfering in its internal affairs."
With regard to the rebirth of the Arab world, His Majesty declared that it was Europe's responsibility to help its Arab neighbors to achieve this economic, scientific and technological development to reduce economic and social differences. between the two partners.
His Majesty added that this resulted in "concrete development projects, recalculating the movement of investments and people and helping to create balances of production that take into account common security, economic and social concerns".
For his part, His Majesty believes that future partnerships aimed at creating an intellectual, cultural and informational environment conducive to coexistence and cooperation between the peoples of the two regions "will enable the integration of generations, the values ​​of tolerance and acceptance of the other, far from stereotypes, exclusion and rejection, And disdain. "
For His Majesty, the goal is to build a future solid relationship between the Arab world and Europe, "free from all judgment and free from the effects of transient events".

King Abdullah also called on Arab regional blocs, including the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), to play their part in developing relations with the European partner and overcoming political obstacles and bilateral disputes that hinder the takeoff and development process.
