Manchester City won a 2-0 home victory over Everton at Goodison Park, the 27th round of the Premier League.
The first goal came from Emeric Laporte a few seconds before the end of the first half, after David Silva made a special effort, while Gabriel Jesús' second goal was scored in the 96th minute.
The win brought Manchester City to 62 points in first place, tied with Liverpool, with a goal difference, but played a game against the Reds, while Everton was stuck at 33 points in ninth place.
The Reds had stumbled and lost two important points after a draw against West Ham in the 25th round of the Premier League.
