Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, today received at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Cairo, Elir Meta, President of the Republic of Albania, currently visiting Cairo.
Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, spokesman for the Secretary-General, said the meeting had been an opportunity for an exchange of views on ways to strengthen communication and cooperation between the Arab League and the Arab League. The spokesman said the Secretary-General was eager to review the latest developments in several important regional issues and explain the dimensions of the League's position, while highlighting the aspirations of the League. to obtain support from Albania for these positions in various international forums, particularly with regard to the Palestinian problem. Taking into account the proximity of Albania to the presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe next year, also underlining the importance of seeking opportunities for economic and commercial cooperation between Arab countries and the Albania.
