Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported in an article on Wednesday that Barcelona club president Joan Laporta called on everyone to calm down, regarding Argentina’s Lionel Messi’s future with the Catalan squad.
Messi’s contract with Barcelona officially expires at midnight, today Wednesday, with nothing being clear about his stay or departure.
And the Spanish newspaper said in its report that numerous media came to Barcelona headquarters today, waiting for one of the officials to come out to talk about Messi’s future.
When Laporta walked past reporters, he found a series of questions about Messi’s future. He responded with a word: “Calm down” and urged the audience to be patient.
The newspaper added that there was no fear in the “Camp Nou” about Messi’s future, and that the Argentine star had no plans to leave the team.

Messi’s name has recently been linked with a move to Manchester City, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, but this news was cut recently, reinforcing the hypothesis that Messi will remain at Barcelona.
