He called on the United Nations Security Council to strongly condemn these actions and shoulder its responsibilities to the Iranian-backed Houthis to end their threats to global peace and security and hold them accountable.

On Wednesday, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced a terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia on Abha airport, confirming that a fire had hit a civilian plane following Iranian-backed militias.

He stressed that the Houthi militia will be held accountable in accordance with international law, adding that the attempt to target Abha airport and threaten civilian travelers is a war crime.

For its part, Germany, France and Great Britain condemned in a joint statement on Thursday the attack targeting a drone on Wednesday at Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.

She stressed that this attack, which was adopted by the Houthis in Yemen, constitutes a “violation of international law” which protects civilian areas.

The foreign ministries of the three countries said in a statement that while they “strongly condemned” the attack on Abha airport, they stressed that “the continued attacks of this type, which target in particular areas civilians in violation of international law, illustrate the threat posed by the proliferation of drones to the stability of the region. “.
