In addition, the White Shirt Council had demanded a full shutdown since November 9 to stem the pandemic, and the shutdown measure was only taken this week after the situation worsened due to the New Year’s celebration. Year.
As we have become accustomed to in recent years, the practices of some officials are marred with gross sectarian proportions. The question that has been applied to this file from the beginning, when the controversy broke out over the areas that suffer the most injuries and those that are isolated by malice. Newspapers recently revealed that the minister suggested in an interview that predominantly Christian areas were “bastions of the epidemic”. This prompted the press to expose how it was distributing the funds allocated to tackle the Corona outbreak, which the World Bank quickly approved in Lebanon. The failure of these areas is due to lack of funding, denying in numbers the bias to provide generous aid to areas where Hezbollah is present. Public opinion had buzzed recently, after it became clear that the funds allocated by the ministry to the Grand Prophet’s Hospital were equivalent to what was allocated to all hospitals put together. The numbers show that thousands of dollars have been spent on consultants and administrative staff. The minister also refused to forward the epidemiological assessment to the Red Cross and handed it over to the party health authority.

This prompted former health minister Karam Karam to distribute a video announcing that the ruling authority has committed a continuing crime by delaying the importation of the vaccine. This is at a time when vaccination started in the Gulf states, and Israel has completed 20% of the vaccination of Israelis, even though Hezbollah is putting its government on a man and a half. According to the government’s plan, Lebanon will not be able to vaccinate more than 20% of the population after 9 months, according to a statement from a member of the parliamentary medical committee, George Adwan.
As we know, the health situation was under control until the explosion on August 4, when the number of injured began to double due to the catastrophic emergency in which Lebanon drowned. Instead of preparing the authority to face the consequences of the explosion and its impact on the Corona pandemic, it did not hesitate to devote itself to repressing the demonstrations that took place to express its anger. The attacks caused direct injury and deliberately caused permanent disability, using prohibited weapons. This prompted the “White Shirt Council” to issue a statement condemning those practices which had diverted the medical apparatus from confronting the effects of the disastrous affliction that has gripped Beirut to treat victims of the repression beyond its borders. capabilities.
As for the aid that arrived from all over the world after the explosion, including food, medicine, medical personnel and equipment, the Mafia found a way to give it to those who did not deserve it, to smuggle it and sell it in the markets of neighboring countries.
And right now, a video of the presidential palace is being leaked attacking the Prime Minister-designate in an unusual way, sparking a scandal that people are concerned about: Was the leak intentional or a mistake? Lie or not !! .. Then politics turns into a battleground between a loser and a winner, and a question of emotions, love and hate in the dire situation in Lebanon. It’s a dark comedy.
Lebanon is ranked third in the world in terms of the outbreak: thousands of injuries, hospitals that have lost their absorption capacity, dozens of deaths and the interruption of many needed and available drugs that cost more than the ability of the average citizen after stealing their money.
What is needed is a transparent plan, according to the statement of Our Lady of the Mountain earlier this week:
A- Regulate the closure, apart from the discretionary nature which has been adopted since last February.
B- Accelerate and activate the purchase of the vaccine and establish the legal bases for its storage and distribution in accordance with ethical and national standards.
The fear is that the treatment of Corona will continue in a healthy way. We also need an independent health authority that guarantees multi-source importation according to the conditions of the producing companies and equitable distribution of the vaccine under the supervision of civil society health organizations such as the “white shirts”.
All of this does not excuse the condemnation of the questionable behavior of many citizens who act on the basis of It Only Happens Others.
