Google recently launched a new feature that invites Gmail users to expose their accounts and urges them to protect themselves.
The new tool is accessible via the Settings and Passwords option, then with Google Password Checkup, according to Sky News.
The verification process is simple because you only have to sign in through the Google Chrome browser until the platform warns you if the password is violated.
According to Time, Google relies on an encrypted database of traffic words often associated with hacking.
Later, Google compares your traffic to other suspicious words and the encrypted check does not affect the user's personal data.
If the check detects a match between the two words, Google recommends that you change the password before it's too late, as hackers might put another word.
Google initially allows users to change their passwords, and several recovery options can be used while forgetting the password.
Technical experts recommend replacing the password from time to time, especially as this new feature is only the alert and does not protect against the risk of a final.
