The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Sunday the number of clubs in the group stage of the African Champions League, a few hours before the draw.
The 16 clubs qualified for the group stage were divided into 4 levels, Al Ahly are on the first level and Ismaili on the fourth, as follows:
Level 1: Congolese Mazembe, Al Ahly, Moroccan wanderers and Tunisian regents.
Second level: Vita Club Sundowns Congolese, Afro-Tunisian, Guinean Houria and South Africa.
Third level: ASEC Mimosa Ivorian, young Algerians from Constantine, Orlando Pirates from South Africa and Simba Tanzanian.
Level 4: FC Platinum Zimbabwe, Ismaili, Al-Saoura and the Lowy Stars of Algeria.
The teams with the names of the teams will be placed at each level in a pot bearing the level number. The draw starts with a fourth-level ball placed in the first set and a second ball in a second, until what the rest of the groups are settled.
A ball is then removed from the pot of level 3 players and they are finished in the same group.
