Sharing your Google Calendar directly with others is a useful way to save time and effort when organizing meetings or special events with family members or colleagues.
Instead of sending emails individually, you can check the calendar of all attendees live to keep them informed and know the date of the upcoming event.
Although the Google Calendar service is available for all devices and different operating systems, the sharing process can only be done through the computer.
Share Google Calendar with specific people
You can share the calendar with a specific person such as a colleague or family member. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the Google Calendar web page through this link.
- On the main screen, click on the Calendar tab on the right.
- Hover over the calendar you want to share and click on the three dots that appear next to it.
- In the menu that appears, click Settings and Sharing.
- In the Share with specific people section below, click the Add people option.
- Tap the Add people option, and then enter the email address of the person you want to share the calendar with in the text box.

You can also set specific permissions for those to whom you give access to the calendar by clicking the down arrow to the right of the permissions box forYou will see a drop-down list showing these permissions:
See your free or occupied status only: Reserved slots are displayed on the calendar, but details of these events are hidden.
See all the details of the event: Show the reserved slots on the calendar and the details of those events are visible.
Make changes to events: The people you share the calendar with can edit events.
Make changes and manage engagement: A person can edit events and share them with others.
After selecting the permission level you want to assign to the person you’re sharing the calendar with, tap Send.

Stop sharing the calendar
If you change your mind and want to keep your schedule to yourself, you can stop sharing Google Calendar at any time. To do this, all you need to do is tap the X next to the name of anyone you’ve shared your calendar with.
