Huawei launches “Android alternative” in December

The company revealed, “Huawei, the Chinese date to release the beta version of the Harmony operating system, which was recently developed as an alternative to Android operating systems.

Wang Shanglu, head of software at Huawei, said the operating system will be available to developers on December 18, and the first beta modules will run the operating system until January or February 2021.

Wang added that all Huawei employees are working on building a new system for Harmony and the plan is progressing as planned.

Early reports indicate that the beta will launch in the first quarter of 2021, particularly in April 2021.

She indicated that around 90% of the company’s smartphones are expected to be ready for an update as soon as the update is released.

Reports have also indicated that there is a slight possibility that the United States will soften its stance and allow Google to work with Huawei again, after U.S. President Donald Trump lost the election and was replaced by Joe Biden.

It is worth noting that Huawei gained around 10% of the global market share of mobile phone sellers last year, after Samsung, the Korean tech giant, by around 31% and Apple by 25%.
